You are about to apply for an account to be able to use the Accessible Business Mark®TM as a manufacturer on the sale of your goods to disabled people once they reach a retailer.

The benefits to a product developer or manufacturer are slightly different than those for a service or retail provider. They are as follows:
- It identifies a product as one that meets a specific design standard for disabled people tested by a qualified panel of experts in their fields, such as Dr John Gill, Chief Scientist of the RNIB and other personnel who are experts in their fields including disabled people who will be using the products;
- It informs disabled people that the product may meet the disabled person�s needs and therefore will help to encourage disabled people to buy a company's products;
- It says that a company has thought about and developed products for disabled people;
- It will help unlock opportunities to sell products to the disabled community which is estimated to have a spending power of £60 billion pounds per year;
- Currently manufacturers are not covered by the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act but by ensuring that products meet the standards required by a disabled person it may provide a company with an edge over its' competitors, as all service and retail providers are affected by the Act and they may be considering appointing manufacturers who meet their standards.
Registration requirements:
General company details are needed as the first stage of registration including a point of contact. The second stage is to add each product that you would like registered. The cost for each product will vary depending on how difficult the testing of a product may be and the length of time it will take to test it. You will need to contact us with details of the product or products that you would like the Accessible Business Mark®TM shown on.
Payment may be made via credit card (or invoice upon request) after the product has been tested. If you would like to pay using another method please contact SMP Consultancy Ltd at info@smpconsultancy.co.uk who will be pleased to discuss this with you.
Once payment has been received you will be authorised to use the Accessible Business Mark®TM on your product or products or packaging for a period of one year after the initial payment thereafter there will be a license fee to be agreed once initial testing has been completed.
Using the login and website, you will have full control over your products to add or remove them and to apply for new product testing.
