You are about to apply for an account to be able to use the Accessible Business Mark®TM on your goods, services, premises and facilities for disabled people.
Register here to create an account in order to use the Accessible Business Mark®TM. The benefits of using the mark are as follows:
- It identifies a company as one that has considered the needs of disabled people and meets the minimum standards recognised in the codes of practice laid down by the former Disability Rights Commission and the British Standards Institute such as BS 8300 and BS 5588 Part 8 (shortly to become BS 9999); Part M of the Building Regulations; Website design standards PAS 78 (shortly to have its' own British Standard); and the signage standards issued by the Royal National Institute for the Blind in their book entitled 'Sign Design Guide';
- It identifies a customer orientated company that meets the needs of the disabled community and the requirements of the legislation;
- It informs disabled people that a company has considered their needs and meets minimum standards as defined in paragraph a) above, and will therefore encourage disabled people to use a company's services;
- It advertises to everyone that the organisation is inclusive and that it has considered the needs of disabled people and meets minimum standards as in a) above;
- It will help unlock opportunities to sell products and services to the disabled community which is estimated to have a spending power of £60 billion pounds per year and what business can afford to ignore this type of spending power?;
- The Accessibility Business Mark®TM will help to make products and services instantly recognisable;
Registration requirements:
General company details are needed as the first stage of registration including a point of contact. The second stage is to add each premise that you would like registered. A cost of £250 + VAT will be incurred for every premise that you register. Payment may be made via credit card (or invoice upon request) at the end of the registration. Once payment has been received your premises will become active after a site login has been issued to you. Using the login and website, you will have full control over your premises to add or remove premises and renew premises.
